After they will go to private rooms, institutions, puplic spaces- gaining new traces like the white splatters from a children workshop in front of another Offspace in Zürich (Longtang)
Movie by Elin Gonzalez & Callum Ross
'Clockwatchers' is a remake of the same titled movie from the 90's by Jill Sprecher, taking a surreal turn. The 3d animated movie follows a character who starts working as an assistant at a bleak company called "Global Credit" where she experiences the repercussions of meritocratic wage-based labour dynamics and the commodification of time, set in motion with Descartes' Enlighment Philosophy where the split between culture and nature determines work itself. The movie's protagonists ask themselves how to feel at home in a world shaped by Capitalism with it's unrelenting credo "I work, therefore I am" and considers only what can be measured. When things at the office mysteriously start to go missing, the protagonist's body similarly starts to disintegrate, haunted, transformed and liberated by another body of nature. The movie deals with the dynamics of technological and natural actors and how they reshape our understanding of identity, hybridity, and freedom.
Paintings by Marilou Bal
Hooks are immensely useful for image-makers. If you’ve got a good hook, it will carry any painting. A Renoir, a Bonnard, or a Marilou Bal. Marilou’s hook is of the lacerating sort. Her hook is girlhood fandom. Marilou’s paintings are revealing. Attractive, trivial, intense, anachronistic and somewhat embarrassing. Their motifs are too insistant, too available, they will not be ignored. — Nora Young
